I am so bored I have posted thrice.

"For the last time, stop bothering me already!" yelled the girl and a loud slam folowed her after. Two minutes later you could hear Linkin Park or Britney Spears' latest hit blasting from the room. This is a typical everyday scenario for a normal teenager like myself.

Teenage life, some say it was the best times of their lives while others just detested it and are relieved they never have to experience it ever again. My mom always said "You teenagers have it so easy, all you need to do is just do well in your exams." She sure was wrong. Not only do we teenagers need to live up to our parents' expectations academically but we also need to have the right attitude in order to fit in with the cool crowd. If not, ir is guaranteed that you will be a social outcast for the remainder of your life as a teen.

I'm not saying that being a teenager is a bad thing. Of course it isn't! When else do we get to cause mischief and not get blamed for it? Just kidding, but the truth is that we teenagers at this ripeage are exposed to the many social ills of the world. As the teen phase is the experimental stage in life it is no surprise that there are many teenagers giving into at least one of the seven deadly sins sych as greed or lust or maybe even gluttony. What say you when you actually read in the papers that a group of teenage boys rape a young innocent girl? I'm sure you are left speechless.

Furthermore as teenagers, we are in the phase of our lives where our body becomes more developed and experience many changes. So how do you expect a young teenage girl or boy to not fuss over their looks in this awkward phase of their lives? Though it may sound superficial, studies have shown that about 70% of teenage girls tend to obtain an eating disorader by the age of just fifteen years old! To add fuel to the fire, more and more magazines are actually featuring models with flawless bodies and skin in the advertisements.

Where romance is concerned, teenage romance is normally one which is overlooked greatly. With publications of romantic novels such as 'Twilight' it does not come as a shock anymore when you see young lovebirds all over the place. However, love is a very powerful element in a teen's life as they are sensitive beings. There was a reported incident where a boy hung himself to death as he was dumped by his dream girl. As you can see this sort of puppy love can lead to dire consequences.

To sum up, I would like to reply to my mother's quote to say that we teenagers do not have it easy at all. In fact, I would say that life is not a bed of roses especially when it comes to being a teen.
